About
(Rejected design for project)
In The Beginning-
Family matters contacted me with an idea to take me and help 20+ youth to come together to create a mural based off of social justice, self-identity, expression and imagination.
Each kid was tasked to come up with drawings and write words that closely pertains to the topic of discussion. They all came up with drawings and then came to an enthusiastic conclusion of what they wanted.
Each drawing/design was inspired off of original designs, ideas from the kids I’ve had the pleasure to work with. The kids had their own imaginative ideas of how they wanted to express their ideas and beliefs in their own unique way.
Goal
The goal was to simply help the youth execute their ideas. The whole program’s purpose was to provide an artistic choice for the youth. So that they can retain a permanent mark with the establishment.

Result
The Murals were a success. The murals were executed in the eyes of the children and in the satisfaction of the supervising staff of Family Matter Chicago as well.
